ABOUT SAMMIE
Sammie is an actress and voiceover actress based in New York City and available for local hire in both New York City and Chicago. She has loved acting and performing (and just generally being a ham) from a young age. Sammie grew up in a suburb of Chicago and brings her Midwestern charm to all of her roles. She loves to play a variety of characters ranging from strong, to sensitive and grounded, to neurotic. Sammie has a BA in theatre from Knox College where she focused on performance. While at Knox she appeared in several main stage and black box productions. After graduating from Knox, Sammie moved to New York City and began training at Michael Howard Studios. She was there from 2016-2019 as a part of their conservatory program.
Dance
Sammie started dancing at 3 years old and danced intensively until age 16. She trained at Giordano Dance Company for over a decade in multiple styles (including jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, hip-hop and tap) and was a member of Giordano's teen performance team. In college, she danced in and choreographed several student productions and showcases. She continues to take classes in New York City for fun.
Improv
Sammie has a strong background in improv. She started taking classes at 10 and quickly became a member of a traveling teen performance ensemble in Libertyville, IL. It was there that she learned and developed a love for Chicago-style improv. Since moving to New York, she has studied with Armando Diaz himself, as well as attending classes at The Magnet Theatre.
